A formal, productive, and rigorous way to research stocks? From已財富自由的電視財經名嘴

Cramer:

"Rather than spending all of your time on Reddit trying to figure out what stock will be promoted next.....let me give you a formal, productive, and rigorous way to research stocks: read the transcripts of quarterly conference calls."

"My number one piece of advice to anyone thinking about picking stocks is that these calls are the most important part of your research. They can tell you so much about individual companies and entire sectors…….in some cases, the whole economy."

讀財報"..........how I get my worldview to make decisions"

(Cramer有次說, 他把一家公司的財報聽了五遍.)

~~~~~
Amen. (就是不能同意更多的意思)
曾經有股友跟我說基本面好難, 其實很多時候, 我就是逼自己定下心來讀這些資料而已. 而投資是個講求紀律的活動. 這樣做, 也可以逼我養成紀律.
做這種事情, 看起來很浪費時間, 但其實每次看完財報後, 公司的新聞我其實都不太需要follow了(因為重要的事情公司在財報中也會提), 而抱起股票來心也會很穩定.
上一季看了將近20家公司的財報結果. 看看這季能夠看幾家.
Baillie Gifford去年績效很好的成長股投資經理人Tom Slater訪談
Barron's: A knack for finding growth (Zevenbergen Capital Investments成長股經理人專訪)
好喜歡Barron's給的文章標題 "A knack (天生竅門) for finding growth". 希望自己挑成長股的技巧也能越來越像是naturally born.
其實她的挑股方法就是我現在在挑新股的方式, 所以看起來很熟悉&親切. 她說的這點我也真是感同身受: to be a successful growth manager, you have to be able to see what can happen versus what can’t happen. You want a culture and people who think that way and are willing to look at something when the world says no. 這也就是要有想像力.
另外, 她講得如何關注高層的方法, 也是我學到的方法&個人經驗: Listen to them talk about what hurdles they faced and what they see ahead. [Notice] if they’re not delivering on their objectives. That’s what allows you to decide whether to ride through a bump or maybe even invest more.
最後, 喜歡她說的"better, better, never done". 這也是做任何事情的態度, 不是嗎?
Anyways. 文章重點已用藍色字體呈現.
